Well, that just makes the whole page wait while the hidden parts load, so it’s not really a solution to the underlying problem.
The ScriptyLightbox (although it’s not your desired layout) works around this by simply waiting to load the big images when they are requested, and only loading the little thumbnails on the first page load. This is known as “lazy loading” and it’s a huge time-saver for the user.
I don’t have anything like that in Carousel, and I don’t have a timeline to add it – it’s a major rewrite of the effect.
