How Does Walter Davis Site Show PSEUDO "Alt Tags"

To my understanding, Alt Text for graphic items can certainly be “defined” in Freeway – however – in my experience, they do not display for me in Safari / Firefox / etc.

Two Questions:

  1. Is this a Mac OS limitation?

  2. On walterdavisstudio.com — when you hover the mouse over the penny (and elsewhere) pseudo “alt tag” popups / tooltips appear. I looked at the page source and found that he uses:

    • DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict
    • and within a
      uses

So, is it what combination of XHTML, PHP, etc is required to get this to work / what do I need to do in Freeway Pro 5 to make it work.

Thanks very much

This isn’t alt text, it’s a title attribute, which is part of the
hyperlink. It’s nothing fancy, any level of HTML will allow this.
Highlight your link text, or click once on your linked graphic, then
open the Hyperlink dialog. One of the inputs toward the bottom of that
dialog is named Title. You can put anything you like here (but best to
keep it brief and related to the content of the page you’re linking to).
