How is this done: Moving background images on scroll ...

Look at the backgroundimages of the div’s … they move while scrolling. How is this done? I’ve replicated the CSS that target the DIV’s, but no success. Who can point me into the right direction?

Appriciated!

Google “parallax scrolling”. It’s quite technical, and I don’t know of any examples done in Freeway. Love to be wrong about that last part!

Ah yes … that’s it indeed. I came across this a couple of times at www.purenz.com and others … and now our IT service seemed to use t as well. I’ve downloaded their complete site, so now let’s try to figure our how to incorporate this into Freeway.

For as far as I can see, it needs a couple javascript files to work. After disabling the js files one by one, it seems that these three are required to make it work:

basic-jquery-slider.min.js
jquery.localscroll-min.js
jquery.parallax-1.1.3.js

Furthermore you need to Markup this script before the :

Apparently it’s in the markup where you need to target the div’s, and I can only assume that you have to make sure that your images are big enough.

It’s exactly there where it would be awesome to combine this behaviour with Sam Dunn’s Supersized script, which -by default- targets the element.

This would be an awesome freeway item-action, by the way. But by the looks of it, this should be simple enough to crowbar into a Freeway document. Let’s give it a try.

I think this library has to be called for as well :

hi
I’m new here, so please be patient. (thank you).

i am looking to do what sam dunn has done, super sized background, but use square black button arrows on both sides to stop, and scroll through images.

im not sure how to do this…i have created my own site,
www.ar5studio.com, and have another version, i am working on in freeway, using the super sizer background action, but can’t use the play/pause action with the button i created?

much thanks in advance.

First thing you want to look at is optimising your image sizes.

Currently you have a nearly 6Mb page - while it might load quite quickly for you locally it is slow here and I wouldn’t want to look at it on my Mobile (never mind the Flash content)

i am looking to do what sam dunn has done

Can you post a link to this

David
