I have no idea - and honestly nobody will tell you any number. You could as well ask:

  1. How many copies of Freeway has been sold?
  2. How much turnover will this be?

I’m running a small german speaking FW-talk, and I know that about 150 users are in there. Furthermore I know that there are much more out there - so no absolute number. It’s just a number indicating that 150 people regularly asking questions or making valuable input.

Even if you count the number of entries in the “people” section - it just indicates those that subscribed here. But I know a lot of users never did and never will.

So all theory, isn’t it?

I’ve always found this distribution of users interesting: http://freewaypro.com/counter2/people/countries

Don’t put too much stock in how many users are listed here – even at its most popular (late 90s, early oughts) FreeCounter was not heavily used by the Freeway community. But one of my reasons for building it was the same question you are asking – how wide-spread is the Freeway community? And the results in sheer number of different countries really surprised me.

I think with the release of Freeway 7 Softpress is growing much! Who knows
if it will come out how many copies of Freeway have been sold to date
