How to allow the page to expand?

Hi…

I have almost finished a website for someone and it uses WebYep CMS…

On this page:

http://bogbainfarm.com/explore_bogbainfarm/cafe_restuarant.php

The text is all editable…however, the problem is that when the client types in more text than the boxes boundaries would usually fit the graphic menu at the right (‘Explore Bogbain Farm’) starts to break up - as can be seen in the link - it shows the background through the graphic.

Is there any way to make it so that this does not occur without placing a limit on the amount of text that can be typed?

Many thanks,

FT

Hi Furgus,

WebYep is great, but you do need prepare, or foresee what effect, more type, or just bigger type does on your layout. If you just resize the text up in Safari you can see the site breaking up.

Consider building sites with layered html boxes (divs) rather that tables (keeping the CSS blue button on). And try experimenting using the box model, as Dan Jasker has kindly shown here:

You can still make sites that stretch downwards without this inline div complexity by just creating layered html boxes (divs), but you do if you want to create footers that move down with added text.

If you intend to use WebYep a lot, then its worth the mileage to learn this method of preparing sites. Freeway 5 does a better job to change the way you think about these issues, than Freeway 4.

Thanks for that David. Unfortunately, that site was built with Freeway Express 4 - meaning that css couldn’t be used! However, I am going to buy FW Pro 5 soon…and will definitely look into the css functions.

Many Thanks,

Fergus
