Do you have an example of this page online somewhere that we can take
a look?
Thanks,
Tim.
I’ve uploaded this here -

I thought I had resolved it - but it’s happening again today - and yesterday almost right after I posted…
It’s simply a test to see if I can make this work properly (for future use) - so not very fancy.

Yes, sorry about that. I wanted to show that the file had been
updated. In future I think I’ll do that in the Freeway file name
rather than the zip name.
Glad you got it in the end.
Regards,
Tim.

I can see the grey background to the football image you’re talking
about. Something in your Freeway page is causing that image to get
generated with that background. Try changing the images to output as
GIFs or PNGs and see if the issue resolves itself.

The moment I read that, it clicked! My fault for incomplete work. Thank you - the originals were, in fact, PNGs, which by default Freeway wanted to make into jpeg. Correcting the “Type” in the inspector for each of these items fixed it.
Cheers!
(I wonder if this could be considered a feature request then? Auto sense native Graphic Type, so it doesn’t have to be adjusted each time a new image is drag/dropped or imported…)

I’ve always thought that Freeway’s automatic image type selection was
quite accurate. The application tends to get things pretty much right
for me based on the file type I import and what I’m doing with the
image. It’s worth keeping an eye on the output tab of the inspector
palette, however, just to make sure the application is doing what you
intended.

Tim.

Hi All,
I almost have this working.
I am trying to create a Carousel / Rollover effect.
I have 3 pictures and beneath them 3 tabs.
For each of the tabs there are 3 images, One for each state of the rollover, Normal, Mouseover and click.
I have grouped the images for each tab and applied the rollover action to each group.
This worked fine.
I then selected my main picture and applied the Carousel action, followed by selecting the other 2 pictures and applied the Carousel Pane action to these.
I applied the Carousel Tab action to my 3 tabs.
When previewing, the Rollover effect for the tabs works great. The main pictures change in accordance with the tab clicked.
The problem is that the carousel does not work. The pictures just changes sharply with no slide?
I’m sure I’ve made a basic error somewhere but can not see it for looking !
Any ideas?

What you’re describing sounds as though the JavaScript libraries are
not getting loaded into the page. Are you also using any other Actions
that attach external files, like the Favicon or External JavaScript
Actions? Try holding down the Control key and choosing File / Publish,
which will change to File / Publish Everything. That will (hopefully)
gather up the missing parts. Then upload (lots of file transfer, since
everything will be new) and test again.

Hi Walter,
I had tried Publish Everything as I saw it in some advice you had given someone in an earlier thread.
I have tried it again… Publish Everything, Upload and then Preview in Browser.
Same problem.
I have nothing else happening on the page. No other actions. Just 1 simple text box with no actions or effects.
I had it working yesterday. I decided to change 1 of the images used for the Carousel Tabs. I ended up deleting what I had created and started again.
Now I can’t get it to work. Does it matter what order I apply the actions to the tabs? I did the rollover action first and then the Carousel Tab action?
Is the fact that the Rollover action is applied to a ‘group’ of 3 images affecting the Carousel?
Thanks again,
Neil

I think this might be the issue. Try again without the Rollover
(delete the other two images, just leave your normal state there), see
if you can make it work that way first. Then try adding your rollover
using the Freeway 2 method: Click the Parameters segment of the
Rollover Action interface, then choose your Over image using the
picker provided. (You’ll have to create that image elsewhere.) See if
it works when you do it that way. Finally move back up to your all-
singing-all-dancing version, and try applying the Carousel Tabs Action
first, then last. It should work, although I haven’t tested this
completely.

Quite the opposite for me. I can’'t think of a single time I’ve used a PNG image where the app didn’t try to say it was JPG - and required correction. No matter - solved, and thanks again!

Hi Walter,
I have got the Carousel / Rollover effect working.
I found some clear instructions you had issued on a previous thread which were fantastic and now it works.
My error was to use Graphics box for the Carousel and the Panes.
I thought that because I was displaying photographs that they had to be Graphics boxes.
I used Html box and selected an image for each. I then created Graphics boxes for carousel tabs. There were tabs for each state, normal, mouseover and click. I grouped these and the applied the rollover action and then the Carousel Tab action.
All working great.
Only drawback is that I will have to correctly size my images in Elements before loading into Freeway as I can’t amend the size of the pictures in a Html box.
Thanks for all your help,
Neil

Not so - use HTML boxes and then insert graphic boxes (inside them) to hold your pics

Tim, I’ve looked and looked for a better link to this on other threads that have the same name, but no luck. Would you mind repeating the link?

I’ve put together a sample Freeway 5 Pro document that contains some examples of the CSS Menus action including this menu from the Softpress home page. Currently the file contains examples of an Apple styled menu, an eBay themed one, the Softpress one and a couple of ones that are still work in progress (they need a little bit of work still!). ![]()
Download it here and give it a spin; http://www.freewayactions.com/test/CSSMenuExamples3.zip
