How to even start forms

Everything I read says “set up a form” but I cannot get it to happen. The Reference Guide shows a drop-down on the HTML button on the toolbar (to the left of the Table icon), but I do not have a drop-down menu on mine.
I went to forms set-up box but I cannot figure out what to select in that dialogue.

Is there a simple video tutorial or step-by-step that will help me set this up.

I obviously need to get through this first step before moving on to figuring out how to get it to actually work.

I thought you had a form already that was hosted on the GoDaddy site and you were using the PHP Feedback Form action http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=019

There are instructions there but if you need an example that you can copy/paste into your FW doc just holler with a list of fields that you want to include. I presume you are running Pro 5?

Skipll,

There is a fully details PDF on how to set up a form using the
easiBase actions here:
Easibase: Freeway Actions See the download
link for ‘Newly updated’ in red text.

If you have ‘or want to use’ another form processor other than
easiForm then you can still use this PDF for creating the basic layout
of a form. The PDF also explains each form element and how they would
need to be set up. There is a lot of confusion form people as they
tend to think that check boxdes, text fields and Radio buttons etc.
all work the same way… when they are actually different, although
the document does not go into the processing side it PDF will also
help there.

As far as how the processor side of the form is implimented: that
actually delpends on what you are using to process the form with,
maybe you are using an action or you might be using a script you want
to use for the processing side of the form, the basics might be the
same but the implimentation can be quite different.

Unfortunately to know how forms work or to use actions or scripts to
integrate with them does intail some reading, even if using actions…
just as anything does. It may actually help you to understand and set
up other forms in the future and hopefully save a lot of time pulling
your hair out.

Dave,

Thanks for replying. I had already looked at the site you linked to, but I am stuck right at the beginning – under the “set up actions” section. I do not know how to do that. I understand there is more to it than just drawing voxes?

To clarify…the reason I am stuck is that the Reference Guide talks about selecting form items from a drop down menu that appears to be to the left of the Table icon on the toolbar. The icon to the left on my toolbar is HTML item, but there is no drop-down.

The Reference guide later – totally out of order – says something about setting up the form with a dialogue box as well to “tell the server what do to” but it fails to explain that very well either.

I am desperate for a simple step-by-step.

Sorry…got it. Did not realize it was a press and hold drop down menu.

Remember that some of the steps are not necessary if you are using the PHPFF action ie Page>Form Setup

Offer to send an example still stands.
