How to Hide Pages on Site Map

Hi, Gang. How do I hide pages on my site map? I’d like to include a site map on my website, but I need certain pages to be hidden so that people can’t click on the pages through the site map.

(Long story short – I’m using Mal’s eCommerce to sell digital downloads and I’d like the downloads to be housed on the website. But I need to hide the pages so that people can’t get to the download pages for free via the site map.)

Thanks!

It’s in the action menu - “omit files and folders”

I meant to say it’s a little check box that you can tick there - self explanatory.

Got it. Thanks, John-Paul. I appreciate it!

…of course your mileage will vary with this site map thing. Frequently it does not register that the page should not be seen so you have to play with it for a while until you can make it work. That’s just my experience with it.

I’ll be darned. John-Paul Kernot helped me with this about a month ago and I installed it on one of my folders, but now I can’t figure it out how to do it again.

John-Paul says that in order to hide a folder so that it doesn’t show up on the site map, you go into the action menu and click on “omit files and folders.”

The problem is that I can’t seem to find that action. I’ve looked in the “Page–>Folder Action” link and the “Insert–>Action Item” link. I’ve also looked “View–>Action Items” and the “Window–>Actions” sections.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jamie

Jamie, you need to go into the site map action which has been applied. You can find it by opening the action palette.

John-Paul – You rock! That worked. Thanks for following-up.

All the best, Jamie
