HTML box chopping picture

Hello:

Here is the problem (followed by a link to the problem): my picture caption box seems to have grown something which extends into, and cuts, the adjoining picture. Depending on your browser, you will see it at least in one case, if not in several. I don’t seem to have this problem on other pages, but you may want to spot check in your browser to see how they come across, if you’re so inclined.

The site as a whole: writtenbyhand.com

Many thanks!
Peter

Looks OK here in Firefox and Safari. Have you tried clearing your
browser cache? Sometimes that causes visual glitches.

I do see what you are describing in FF, especially when increasing and decreasing the size of the text.

? Are any of the boxes holding the content overlapping in the FW design?

? Are the images and associated captions ‘grouped’ together? This may well force the image to remain a whole piece, instead of slices.

I guess a fail-safe would be to save the images as web-ready somewhere and import them back as ‘pass-through’. Then FW would definitely not break them up on publish.

I’ve had that problem before. I’m told that sometimes drawing an HTML box over a graphic box will create that problem, but I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate.

In any case, what I do is just delete the offending graphic and re-draw it from scratch. It’s a little bit of a hassle, but it seems that that fixes the problem.

All the best,
Jamie
