HTML emails

I’m going to be using an app called mailmachinepro which will send the emails for me so that I don’t tie up my machine…

Anyway, they are telling me to change the resource code of my images and I need a bit of hand holding here.

Here’s the email:
http://cranespiepantry.com/emails/february.html

What’s the easiest way to make this happen?

Thanks

Tony

There are a couple of tutorials on the KnowledgeBase about this, and
Tim Plumb has written an Action called Remote Resources which makes
it quite automatic. http://freewayactions.com

Note for everyone: please put http:// in front of
any URLs that you want to be clickable. Remember,
many people read these messages by email, and
even “www.” in a string of text doesn’t
automatically make it a hyperlink in every email
client. Including the http:// protocol does.

BTW, that page looks like it is missing a large nu,ber of graphics!

It would appear that you still have a lot of relative links in there i.e.

…/Resources/clear.gif

Also make sure any hyperlinks that you have on the page have full paths - one you have reads

a href=“…/video/virtualtourmain.html”>

Which would mean that as an email the clicked link doesn’t know the destination domain so wont work.

Freeway generates relative links for you but for this purpose make sure you put the full path in i.e. /yourdomain.com

Without the leading / of course (only put in their so a hyperlink wasn’t created on the web forum.

Not sure why the action is not creating full paths for all your images though. Tim?

Right… I’m not sure why the links are quite right either…

Tim?

I didn’t have the FULL path in there.

Sorry.

I’m not sure what’s happening here. It could be anything from user
error to an error in the action but I can’t tell from here.
I’ve asked Tony to send me a sample file so I can take a closer look.
Regards,
Tim.
