For those of us unfamiliar with the HTML snippet in iWeb - what does it do?

For example, if you want to install a visitors counter, you just paste de HTML code into the Snippet window, and you place it wherever you want. I’m trying to do the same with a MP3 player using the “insert-markup item” option in freeway express, but it makes a mess in the page I insert it.
Best,
Jose.

In what way does it make a mess?
When you ‘insert markup’ it places a 100px X 100px box on your page. Are you resizing it to suit your mp3 player? and placing it so the rendered size will not interfere with the other items on your page.

iWeb’s snippet feature is a bit odd (IMHO) in that it creates a new page and
then embeds this into the initial page using an iFrame. That aside Freeway’s
markup feature should do what you need. Be aware, however, that the code you
are pasting may force the layout to adjust if you haven’t left enough room in
the page design. Simply pull the markup box to the size of the final output and
you should be fine.
Also some markup may require certain parts of the code to be placed in specific
locations in the final HTML structure. If your MP3 player needs a block of code
in the document head (for example) you will need to add this in another markup
block.
If you are still having problems post your html page online somewhere and we’ll
take a look.
Regards,
Tim.

Thanks. Just make your markup item as big as the final player and your layout
shouldn’t get pushed apart when published.

Tim.

Actually it is as big as the player, and when I use the preview inside freeway it puts a huge white box around the player, and it pushes everithing away.

Jose.

It looks to me like the code that you’re adding includes some sizing
attributes; within the long ‘embed’ tag at the beginning I saw this:
height="228" width="434"
I suggest trying it with this stuff removed, as it is being fitted
into a space that also has sizing code as part of the normal layout
process. (And it looks like it differs, too.)
Also, you’ve made your white-bordered box using a large graphic. This
is sliced up (no way to avoid this in Freeway Express) and gets
pushed apart by the conflicts with the sizing part of the code. I
suggest that you change this to an HTML box; it should help as well.

Here is the code. I just want the player to be in the centre of the box.

I just tried this with your code and pasted it into a markup box that was 434w x 228h (the sizing from your code) - this displayed fine for me.
Just remember for any layout to allow for users resizing text. I know there is no text in the player but there may be in the other stuff on your page close by that will affect things.
