HTML5

Hi there

Now that Safari 4 supports HTML5, Firefox is heading in the HTML5 direction and IE8 will have preliminary support for HTML5, are there any plans for Freeway to support HTML5?

I know that HTML5 is not standardized yet, but that doesn’t seem to matter to the likes of Apple etc who are supporting it anyway.

Rather than waiting for HTML5 to become a real standard, I personally think Freeway should become HTML5 “ready” as soon as possible, if only for marketing to to tick an extra checkbox in the features comparison pamphlet.

James

I haven’t looked into HTML 5, but I doubt Softpress will jump the gun at least till Windows 7 is out in September to see how IE8 handles everything. HTML5 just seems to be a few new tags and it looks to still be undecided on a standard for it.

More importantly Softpress still has to catch up with other web softwares by putting in the rules, properties, and attributes that constitute full CSS 1.0-2.0 support. Hopefully they don’t get to that by the time CSS 3.0 is a standard.

I do like me some round-corners.

I agree - though knowing how long it takes to develop new features, I’d start on HTML 5 now
