iMac construction standards

Hi all,

Grumpy here, with yet another moan, re declining standards at Apple Inc.

As you may know from my previous posting here (Mountain Lion), I survive with a late 2006 model 17" iMac, bought cheap coz of its endemic vertical lined display. It has been established that almost every one of these iMacs has this problem, due to the use of substandard screens and that Apple have long ceased to offer repair (they initially refused to even acknowledge the fault).

It seems that bad design and/or substandard screens are still plaguing the iMac line and that Apple are still, let us say, less than helpful.

Please see:

There is also a web site dedicated to the vertical line problem, which (they say), has had to resort to being in french, to avert the eyes of Apple’s lawyers!!!

All sounds very Microsoft to me!!!

Bob, I think you’ll find that Apple’s lawyers can probably read in any language Apple wants them to:-)
