Image Compression & Page Speed

I ran into iPad page loading speed issues with a rudimentary page (temporary) containing an Exhibeo gallery, so ran a few online website efficiency tests on that page and got some bad reviews. Here’s a list from Google Developers Page Speed Insights -

*Should Fix:
Optimize images

Leverage browser caching

Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content

Consider Fixing:
Enable compression

Minify JavaScript

Minify HTML

Minify CSS

So part of the answer for optimizing loading speed might be to resize images before dropping into Exhibeo. Any other tips to help it along?

Exhibeo already scales the images down, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. What you should do though, is optimize Exhibeo’s output graphics.

Go and download ImageOptim, then drag the .xbExport file onto its window. Let it run. Done!
