In Illustrator CC created SVG

Hi guys,

fiddled around with SVGs today.

Used Illustrator CC to create the file, imported this in FW and the DIV collapses to dimension nil width and height.

Tried exact the same in Illu CS5 and this worked.

Nothing which wonders me these days but are there new things that should be reviewed in FW-importer engine or is there something quirky in Illu (the native code works like a charm - btw).

Cheers

Thomas

Hey, Thomas.

In some cases, you can use the min-height, min-width settings in FWP to
force the workspace to keep from collapsing a problem div, as long as the
min measurement is below what the actual measurement will be.

My favorite method is to counter the FWP measurement in the Extended
interface. For example, if I set a div to be X high or wide and the
workspace explodes, I set it to whatever height the workspace requires to
not crush the content (for me it’s usually pass-thru images) then I set the
Extended Item to what the correct measurement should be.

It can be a pain trying to satisfy such a divergent workflow - constantly
tricking FWP into writing the code I want or need - but at least it is
consistent and replicable behavior. When they change that, I will have to
find a new way to cheat the system.

Hi Ernie,

yeah - agreed however there is something deeper in here, cause I miss as well the “preview” of my SVG-file.

Overwriting via extended is something I adopted as well, using it excessively (adjusting fractal widths in box-modeling  mainly (Please SP set the workspace to box-sizing:border-box by default).

But for the pass-through I still miss a workflow that fits into my needs. I am still under the impression, that pass-through was way more controllable back in the days of 5.5.

For exactly this reason I’m currently more on the “background image set to size cover” - trip.

Cheers
