Is it possible to select multiple items with the Inline method?
Is it possible to drag items in the site panel?

No!

Not if they are placed relative, but yes if they are placed (drawn) absolute.

If we are talking purely inline construction, then no and no.
You can insert your cursor into an inline group and use the arrow keys to
navigate left and right - like with a line of text. When doing so, you can
see when an inline item becomes selected, with the selection corners
becoming visible - but also with that item in the Site panel being
hilited.
What’s the benefit of that? Well, it’s not useful for dragging, but very
useful for knowing where your cursor is within the inline construction…
especially for things like pasting things or inserting things.
What are you trying to do with inline construction that you need help with?

For a start, I can’t seem to place a html box adjacent to the right of a graphic box and have them aligned. The html box is always lower by a return or two.
It’s okay with the graphic on the left, however?

I cured this by making the html float right, not left!

This is going to be an easy one, but it may take a bit to absorb.
Here is a file I made for you:

What is throwing things off is that an image box and an html box are not
the same thing. In normal operation, Freeway Pro encloses images in
paragraph tags - the p tags. However, it does not do that with HTML items.
The p tags surrounding your image causes a displacement of the adjacent
html item because p tags are block-level items - a fancy way of saying they
want to occupy the full width of a containing element. Even though there is
no text, the p tag tries to reserve some space for it, displacing the HTML
item that follows it inline.
One way to fix this is to first insert an html item – and then insert your
graphic item into it – and then float the html item container. Then add
your second html item and float that. The HTML container keeps the p tag
from hogging all the space in the line of items.
