I need to set up things so that the content generated by the object to which the SiteMap action is applied can either stretch to match the content or scroll.
Sorry Trey, I’m struggling to picture what’s happening here. Do you have a Site Map Action item on the page with some content directly below it that isn’t getting pushed down to the page to accommodate the content generated by the Site Map Action?
If so, you can make the content scroll by placing the Site Map Action inside another item and setting the Overflow option of the outermost item to Auto.
Alternatively, you could you use the Relative Page Layout Action on the page, or set up a full inflow layout (there’s a tutorial found on page 226 of the Freeway Reference guide half way-ish down this page: http://softpress.com/help/)
Let me know if I’ve got the wrong end of the stick.

This is a very large site. With its default state, the site map displays ten items but when fully expanded, the site map is extremely tall.
Ideally, the container would stretch to accommodate whatever content the action displays, in which case I could have an inline layout, with the elements at the bottom of the page beneath the sitemap. As is (and because it is low priority) I simply made the page fit the maximum content of the site map.
Ah yes, I see. Making the Site Map item a Layer (and any other table based items) and using the Relative Page Layout Action should work in that case. If you’re having problems getting it to work then the guys in Support will be happy to help out if you send the file into them.
