internal hyperlink page not found

I’m working on a new site for an art gallery. The index page has a hyperlink to an “artists” page. The link works locally (as do the flash slideshows in other parts of the site) but the link turns up “page not found” live. There isn’t any flash on the artist page, just lots of slave images and rollovers. The slideshows on other pages don’t work either and I’m not sure if the issues are related. I’m using slideshow pro, slideshow pro director, and thumbgrid. Any input would be a great help!

How are you uploading things to your sites?

Transmit FTP. After I publish in Freeway, I upload the entire contents of the site folder to my server. I also copy/paste the index.html outside the home directory so that it appears as index.html in the root directory. I’ve tried replacing all the files, as well as sychronizing using both update and mirror options. I’m running Transmit 3.6.4

I just got the artist page working! Made new masters. The slideshows still don’t work though. Within the “Site Folder” there are folders for each artist, containing a page with a swf file for the slideshow. The swf files show up in the “Resources” folder when I publish from Freeway. Do I need to upload the fla, html, and js for each swf too? And if so where?

You’re about to get the mob of people saying don’t mess with the Site Folder. Just forewarning.

Right now you need to upload to however your Flash files are setup. If you’re using SSP it’ll depend on if you’re using the Flash version or the Lightroom version.

If you’re using the Flash version then you need to upload your images to the locations directed to in the images.xml file. You do not need to upload the swfobject or js files because Freeway puts it’s own flash object detector in there.

If you’re using Lightroom SSP then you’ll need to upload the images.xml, param.xml, and slideshowpro.swf files to your root directory and then manually upload your album files to your root as well. If moved you’ll have to adjust the images.xml to their new locations.

I see you’ve got another thread on here that I said something about a sample page to see what’s missing.

I meant the “Site Folder” in Freeway. It starts out that way. like a default setting, when you create a new site in Freeway. Please no mob

I’m using the Flash version. As far as I can tell the images are in ssp_director/albums/album-1 and /album-2, and so on. I can locate every one of the images and videos that I need.

In the flash files I have the xml file paths set to something like this one: http://www.gallerydesoto.com/ssp_director/images.php?gallery=7

There are xml files are in ssp_director/xml_cache. The first one is pointing to an album and all the rest are pointing to galleries. I copied xml file paths from galleries for each artist from Slideshow Pro Director. Some galleries only have one album, some has as many as 5 albums.

Any more insight here? Thanks!

Upload from Freeway, then IF you have extra items, for example
external elements for your SWF media, then upload those (and only
those) using Transmit.

Freeway does a marvellous job of managing everything for you, but it
can only do this if you let it.

I uploaded from Freeway. Still not working though. What other external elements might I have? And where would they go? I thought using Slideshow Pro Director did all that for you??
