iphone browser toolbars -- how to remove

Hi,

Does anyone know how to remove the toolbars in iPhone Safari browser. I would like my iPhone site to use all available screen space.

I am not a programmer – so the solution has to a be a simple one, if possible.

A quick Google search reveals this:

Other methods look to adding a META tag that scrolls down to a certain part of your site. That seems to run your site in an App mode and that seems to work or else you’ll find another META tag that will remove the toolbar and bottom bar completely which leads to you having to run all the navigation inside your site which, depending on your skill level, might be a bit laborious.

Thanks Dan.

I too saw the quote from evotech. I just didn’t know how or where to insert her java code into my website.

I will also try searching for a META tag that removes the toolbars – I’d prefer to do the site navigation myself (rather than using the toolbars).

Much appreciated,
Blair

The iPhone templates have the code built in so you could use them as a starting point:
