iphone tel number detection

Hi

Can anyone help? I’ve turned off iphone number detection in Document setup but the numbers are still being detected in the horrid blue underlined links. This is appearing on both ipad and iphone.

It’s messing with my design man!

Thanks

Hi Carla,
By default iOS devices (iPads & iPhones) will sniff out what they think are phone numbers on the page and wrap them in links allowing the site visitor the chance to click on the number and have the device call the number. If you turn off the iPhone telephone number detection in Freeway’s document setup dialog then the device won’t automatically do this for you but you can add the links manually yourself.

Select the phone number, go to Edit > Hyperlink > External > and in the Protocol menu select Tel (the last item in the list). Enter the phone number in the box below and press OK. This will wrap the phone number in a tel link that will call the number when clicked BUT, and it is a big but, will almost certainly throw an error for visitors using browsers that don’t understand the tel protocol (most desktop users).
Regards,
Tim.

Thx so much Tim
I was able to fix it by treating the telephone # like we do all hyperlinks thru inspector panel, as Dave suggested.
Originally I turned telephone detection off before asking forum and it took away problem but I like the detection.

see you all soon
