Is there a way to protect assets?

I have a client who has MP3 and video samples on their website. They would like to protect them so that they can only be viewed, but not downloaded. They are concerned that people are using things like DownloadHelper to download these elements.

Any way around it? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can try wrapping them in a Flash player, but even that can be
circumvented. The thing is, in order to play a file, you have to
download it to your browser. So it’s kind of pointless to try to get
the toothpaste back into the tube. You can make it difficult, but not
impossible, to save a file to disk. But if you really want to protect
it from download, don’t put it on line.
