You can bet your boots that he will see this post and come charging to your aid. I am sure he has a sniffer that emails him when his name is mentioned.
Actually, the “from” address is a normal function of email and is only
seen by list recipients the one time they receive it. By comparison,
an address in the message body persists on the web forum where it can
be seen 24/7 by all non-list recipients which at last count number
about one point two billion(1).

these 2 posts have my email address in them and I think it might be
good to somehow get rid of them.
Those posts shouldn’t show your email address when viewed in the web
forum. That’s one of the features of the web interface; email
addresses aren’t available through that view. In fact, I don’t think
emails in the body of messages survive at all - just the header items
when delivered as emails to subscribers, which is normal.

Whoops! I didn’t spot that. Still can’t btw; those don’t show up on
the web forum in the list of posts made by lfedje. But if that’s
happened then Walter will definitely want to know about it.
Ahh… I just spotted a post by “Loren Fedje” in my Freewaytalk
Tutorials mailbox in Eudora, with an email address in both the
subject and the body of the message. It is strange that this got past
the address-masking filters, but I still can’t see the post at all in
the web-based forum view.

Ah. Thanks for pointing that out Ernie. Being an email-only viewer, I
didn’t realise it was that way.
Walter deleted those 2 messages, and I will have to live with the consequences that may result due to my mistake.
Those posts have gone out to everyone that is signed up to receive automatic email posts, and hopefully that won’t result in too much spam, but having the email address in the subject line such as I did, and leaving those posts on the forum would cause a bit of a problem.
Without going into too much detail, not knowing how this forum worked, I found the email that I received when I signed into 2 of the groups a bit confusing. I thought it was asking for confirmation of my email address before I could post to the group, but the message didn’t say where to put the email address.
"To post to this list, send your email to:
email@hidden"
I misread that, and thought that I had to confirm before I could post, but now that I know that this is an email forum I understand what it was all about.
