java script error for CSS menus

Is anyone getting this JavaScript Error?

fwParameters.markertop has no properties.

Suddenly this error occurred when I went to view my site in Firefox.

I’ve tried rebuilding CSS menus and even reinstalled the application but any time I use the CSS menu action this error occurs.

How would I go about editing the code directly, if this is possible?

this from March 2008 - again no sign of any solution, so I am bumping this to the top as well

Could you send me a test Freeway document that shows the errors that
you’re talking about? You do seem to arrive at errors that I’ve not
seen before… I’d like to see 'em first-hand (from your own
examples) so I can try to eliminate 'em.

I have uploaded the menu item that causes the problems here - http://drop.io/iqm4ert/asset/js-error-zip

I have simply copied the error part out of the main FWY page and pasted to a new one - same issue

Sadly wasted 4 hours on this today and 2 hours yesterday. It appears that the css menu action is just too fragile and unpredictable to be used properly.

Many thanks!

I’ve downloaded the Freeway file, opened in Freeway Pro (version
5.3.1), reapplied the master (the HTML box wasn’t on the regular
page), chose where to publish… and it publishes and works fine.
Really!

No error in sight. Nada, nil, nowt.

From your reports it seems that something’s wrong somewhere… but I
see no problems at all here!

Hmm.

Well I assure you that this has given me a lot of pain today and it is documented by others.

I have run into this error a bunch of times and it can be caused by applying a different style or changing the wording within the list.

So, I will keep you up to date when I next get the error. Most of the js that highlights the error is here:

I believe you! I did think it odd though, and I wasn’t able to
reproduce it. Thanks for the screengrab. (BTW, it would be simpler
for me to see the grab if you just threw it onto some regular web
space so I can view it properly without downloading.)

Please grab this example Freeway file, open it, set the Site folder
location, and see if you have problems publishing it:

I’ve tried changing styles, changing links and editing the text but
not hit a problem. :-?

I also downloaded the file, reapplied the master in 5.3.1 and had no problems.

Hi Folks
I am having the same problem with Java script error. The CSS menus worked great for 2 days while building my site, but not now. I have tried rebuilding with all new text, boxes, etc, but it is still occurring. I am going to reboot, but that probably wont help, will it?

Also, this link http://www.panoramaphotographer.com/CSSmenusexample.zip appears to be broken

Precisely a year old in fact…
I’ve uploaded it again, if that’s any help.

I am getting an error that was identical to the chap that began this thread: “fwParameters.markertop has no properties.” It finally disappeared when I started over with a new graphic box and content that was re-created (vs cut and paste from the last text document)

I am using FWP 5.4.2

Also, can anyone tell me where to go to understand (and I mean really understand) how the layers vs table items work with and without CSS button turned on? The FWP PDF Reference does a good job of explaining “what is what,” but it gives no clue to the “why and therefor.” For example, why do layers and “combine with parent” seem to be default graphic box properties, yet they seem to gum things up when overlapping items. And why would anyone choose one way vs another of making things work?

I know this is probably a big subject, but is there a reference that thoroughly explains it all?
