Java Script Error on Transition FX

Hi,
I am trying to figure out the transition fx action. I was able to achieve the effect I wanted (making an expanding and contracting accordion menu). However after a few page previews I started getting an Java Script Error message in the action palette. There is a option to “clear error”, after clicking that and then going to preview another error message pops up which displays and underlines the error in the code…I’m completely lost at that point. Any ideas what went wrong. Like I said, it seems that I was able to get it work correctly a few times.
Thanks,
Rich

Perhaps another action is causing a clash. Are you applying any new actions to the pages, say like MooTools? Perhaps Joe or you can speculate on what it was exactly.

Hi Mitchell,
I was thinking the same thing about Moo Tools…I did try those actions before I tired the transition fx.
Not sure if it matters but I opened another Freeway site (one in which I did not apply any Moo Tools actions) and tried just the Transition FX and got the same error. Is it possible to remove actions from Freeway? If so I would try to remove the set of Moo Tools actions to see if that would make the Transition FX function properly…
But I did just get a note from Softpress regarding this problem…they said:
“This is something that is fixed in one of our internal builds, which will be part of 5.2 in the near future.”

Well usually a screen pop-ups up with what the error is. I’m sure you know that you can remove the actions by clicking the X in the action’s palette on the specific items. After that I usually ctrl+publish everything to make sure those files are not back in the site folder. The new MooTools says that it’ll give you a notice of some sort if the two actions collide.

Glad to see an update is coming, a jump to 5.2 means some new things hopefully.

Hi Rich,

Sorry, we should have said that you could probably get it working by
reselecting the SLIDEDOWN item on each of the pages. I think the
Action got confused somewhere along the line because it couldn’t find
the item.

Also, have you see this page?

It has a demonstration of how to apply the Action to get an accordion-
like effect.

Hi Joe,
I did see that link…but am going to go back and read it more carefully.
Thanks for all of your help. This forum is great.

Has anyone figured out this problem. I too am getting a javascript error on the Transition FX on a site that has worked fine for months. I clear the error in the Actions palette, but the error returns almost immediately.

The error is “theHead has no properties.”

How do I get rid of this?

Thanks!
