JavaScript error php feedback form action

My first form, I think I created it correctly and I’ve downloaded the php feedback action, clicked on the pasteboard, added action, expanded it’s box to encompass the form elements but in the action window I’m getting: “…an error was detected in JavaScript of the Action…” and if I hit ‘clear error’ it reads “fw parameters[“disc1”] has no properties”. There’s nothing else on the page but for a couple of graphics. I must admit, I’m not really sure quite what this action does and/or if it’s where (when I can get into it) I add the email address the form should go to. Anyone advise please ? Many thanks Roger

Page>Page Actions>PHP Feedback Form

Is the easiest way to apply the action to a page with a form on it.

Then in the Action Inspector palette you can set your error and success pages, your email destination etc.

So first thing - undo how you have added the action already and redo as above.

Sorry to pester David but how do I get the “thank you” page … I’m looking for a redirection field but with no luck … anyway I’m going for a beer now so I’ll certainly be able to find it in an hour or two’s time (NOT) - best Roger

Rather than a redirection field you have error and success pages.

The success page is your Thank You page.

Hi Roger,
Apologies for the error. There was a control missing in this version of the
action. I’ve updated the action on the FreewayActions.com web site and you
should be good again.
All the best,
Tim.

So am I maybe doing this incorrectly ? I have created a new page with “Thank you for your email” etc on it and called it “Thank you” (no flies on me) and have (in the feedback action ) made the success box my thank you page, when I try it in my browser I fill-in the form and hit ‘submit’ but don’t get the thank you page - am I missing something ? if it’s obvious and I’m being an idiot my apologies in advance for wasting your time. Yes it appears something is wrong (I mean I’ve made an error) I get this message : “The requested URL /cgi-bin/post-query was not found on this server”.

The very helpful David at I needwebhosting suggested that there should be a file “contact-go.php” in my site folder but it aint there, thoughts welcome please ? Regards Roger

Hi Roger,
What the action doesn’t do a good job of is to convey that both the success and
error links need to be set before the action generates any code.
Fill both of these in and the action should get you back on track.
Regards,
Tim.

Tim,

I’ve just found that the minimum you need to enter to send a message from
the PHP Feeedback Form is only a correct email address.

I collected your latest drop yesterday, so AFAIK I have the latest version.
It reports version 1.9.1

Best wishes Peter
