Joomla vs Drupal vs ...

I am a novice with Freeway but have quite a bit of experience with PHP.

I need to develop a new web site which will require a back end database among other things. I have been looking at Drupal and Joomla specifically because I just can’t see building it all myself with Freeway based on my experience to-date.

Most of the critiques I have seen of Drupal seem to be related to the old version. Can anyone who has experience of the current “friendly” version of Drupal compare it with Joomla or other CMS.

Hi Jon,

could you point a bit more the need of a backend? The reason I ask is that there are a few nice CMS’s out there to recommend, but they would not make any sense because they need no backend.

Cheers

I need database for subscriber lists, events calendar, client addresses, etc.

Basically the site will be used not juts for “conventional” purposes but also to host demonstrations of certain programming techniques.

Hope this helps.
