Given the long(-ish) delay in some small bug fixes being released might that be a sign that a larger full-point update to Freeway is close to being released? Maybe we’ll find out more about jQuery integration then.

I think that it is likely - with the recent release of Mountain Lion - that an update can’t be far away.
Whether or not it will include extra features (beyond Html 5 support) remains to be seen. I suspect that jQuery integration will not be on the list.
