Lilghtbox-multiple images

Hello,

Does anyone know how I can incorporate a light box with multiple images? I don’t want to use moo tools becasue then I cannot use any other scripty actions and my page is full of them. I know that scripty lightbox only allows you to use one image and I would like to be able to click on one image, but have the lightbox contain a set of images to scroll through. If possible, I would like to know if I can incorporate the lightbox in the link that I provided.

Please Help.

Thanks.

This page http://www.deltadesign.co/fw_examples/fwactions/lightbox2.html uses Lightbox2 but it is hand coded so not the same WYSIWYG as the FW actions offer.

But it isn’t that difficult and I can send you a sample FW file if you think it will help.

My example uses V2.05 which is Script/Protaculous based.

If you could send me a freeway file that would help a bunch, and possibly some instructions on how to do the coding. I am pretty new to this but I learn very fast.

here’s my email:

I guess I can’t post my email, but if you could send me a file that would be immensely helpful.

Thanks for the help…you are a god send on this forum for me many time now.

What version of FW? and you will need to post your email address in the format tom(at)yoursite.com or it gets obfuscated by the Forum software.

You will also need to get the 2.05 version from Lokesh’s site

Click on the “My Account” navigation option on the Web forum, and you’ll see the spot to add your personal contact information. If you enter your address in the format (exactly)

<mailto:yourRealEmailAddressHere>

(replace yourRealEmailAddressHere with your actual address, with the @ sign, which FreewayTalk strips out of the Web view to protect your security)

you will get a clickable link in your bio page where other registered members can send you mail. No unregistered people will be able to see anything to do with your address.

Hey David,

The hand-coding part of this scares me, but I’m not finding what I need for a lightbox slideshow. Mind if I take a look at what you did?

Also, in this thread
http://www.freewaytalk.net/thread/view/113573#form_container
you told Tom he needed to download v2.05 of LightBox2. I’m looking at this website and only see v2.51

Thoughts? (And thanks!)

Doty

What does this offer that Showcase doesn’t?

How many images do you want to use and what sort of transition ie which example do you like.

Remembering that this requires jQuery which does not play well with the native FW actions which use Script/Protaculous libraries. So shouldn’t be used on the same page as a lot of the FW actions.

Showcase doesn’t seem to allow me to have one thumbnail image and a gallery of images that pop up when I click on it.

Here is the page I would like to use it on:

http://www.jgsdesigns.com/PUBLICATIONS/magazines.html

basically, I have these magazine covers and when you click on one I would like to have that cover and some images of pages pop up in a lightbox. Perhaps I’m missing something with Showcase, but it just seems a little wonky to me. I understand if I can’t use this with the current page, then I will try to find something else unless you can tell me that this will work on my example page.

Thanks for the help.

But you dont have that just now! You have multiple thumbs.

Are you saying you want to click on a single cover thumb (out of a display of several) and have the larger cover image with a selection of other pages/images from the same ‘edition’ appear.

Something like this http://www.deltadesign.co/fw_examples/fwactions/lightbox-slideshow.html

I just dont think it is practical with the amount of thumbs/images you want to use.

Yes…exactly like that…and not all of the thumbs will have a lightbox.

How did you accomplish that, and why would it not be practical with the amount of thumbs I currently have?

Thanks for the help

why would it not be practical with the amount of thumbs I currently have?

Because the construction method that this uses would require 32 (the # of thumbs requiring lightbox) divs each with hidden content of however many extra pics you want displayed in your lightboxes. These are difficult to move and position correctly on your FW page.

Take my word for it that this is not an easy page structure to work with - never mind that you may potentially be loading 32 x ? larger images into your page. That could make for a very weighty page.

I can let you have an example page that you can dissect so that you can get an idea what is involved but a precanned solution like Showcase/Exhibeo is so much easier.

I’ll take a look at Exhibeo and see if that could work for me…thanks for the help
