line ends and more

Well, I am about 20 minutes into playing with Intaglio and I have to admit I am having fun. Especially with the blurring effects. I was a heavy core CorelDRAW, Illustrator, and Xara user, but when I went imac I was left with ai…which sucks basically.

Questions:
Is there a way to control the ends of lines, round, square, etc?

Is there a way to set constraint angles or dynamic guide angles? ie, maybe I want it to snap at 15 degree increments instead of the 45 degree default.

Can I convert a straight line to a curve?

I am sure there will be more.

Thanks

Oh, I found the line end issue, or at least one way. Just use the brush tool.

Hmm, I also found how to control lines end in the Stroke drop down menu.

Straight line to curve:
Choose the Point Selection tool, click on a point and hold down the Option key. To make the line a curve, drag the point.

Constraining angles:
As far as I know, Intaglio is a bit limited at this. If you hold down the Shift key, select the Rotate tool and drag, shapes are rotated by 45 degrees.
For more control, use the Rotate dialogue box in the Object menu. Shapes can be rotated and duplicated as desired. Pressing Command-R repeats the transformation and if you use Blends such as Object>Blend>Multiply, excellent effects are possible.

Line caps are set in the stroke inspector (see the menu Window > Stroke) but you have to reveal the bottom part of the panel using the disclosure triangle in the bottom right corner.
