link styles

On my page, I have seen in the head that certain items have the
a:link, a:visited, a:hover and a:active styles applied. Is there a way
that I can get these externalised with the stylesheet?
Basically I have 5 or six items on the page that use the same link
styles. I’ve tried setting styles in the pallet, but cannot apply them
to text – obviously got the wrong end of the stick.

Or is there a tutorial I can follow? I’ve had a look online but cannot
find any reference.

Perhaps this would help? I wrote this a while ago, but it should work.

Lovely Dan, thanks.

I think it’s worth setting this at the start of a project rather than
at the end.

Right. I typically create my link styles last however because I can create the individual universal styles in my CSS palette really at any time, but it is easier then to pick your battles if you want to mix up the colors in a specific area.

Fortunately in FW you can make the necessary changes easily.

IDEA: If only there was an action that you could apply to your site folder that would add the necessary link styles to your CSS, easily enough as they are in the Inspector palette with the check-boxes and drop-downs, and upon Publish it’d insert the code and you’d be set. It could have some drop down’s for color’s, style (bold, underline, etc), current style, etc. Might be nice.
