Link to New Window

I’m guessing Link to New Window in FW5 replaces the Spawn New Window from the older FW3/4 days -and using it seems great, however, I think I recall that one used to be able to create a new page/window (in my case, a smaller one for a video) that popped up dead center on the screen, rather than in the upper left corner of the screen. How can this be done using the Link to New Window action. I don’t see any settings for positioning-- nor in the Inspector palate either.

Looks like Spawn New Window is still out there as a freebie—so— that takes care of my need/question…

Well, I’m confused, I can see my freewaypage with “link to new window”-action,
but now I had to wipe my HD and in Freeway i just cannot find this “link to new window”-action.

I have the “Spawn new Window” action, does this one the same?

ADD:
I mean , I see the action employed on a DIV, but it’s not in the FRW-menu and not in Actionsforge.

In a run of text Insert>Action Item>Text Link to New Window

On a graphic Item>Actions>Link to New Window

The Action itself is built into Freeway, and that’s why it’s not
listed on the Forge. Almost anything you do in Freeway is contextual,
by which I mean that an option to do or add something is conditioned
on whether you have selected the item it applies to, or your current
selection or cursor can accept that sort of content. If something
doesn’t make sense, Freeway generally won’t show you the opportunity
to do it.

Thank you, it worked,

only that when i apply on a run of text Insert>Action Item>Text Link to New Window,

then the original text is not visible in the FRW production document, (although later in the browser, if i entered it in the actions pane.)

Which is a bit awkward.

/ Thanks so far!

I agree, but it’s all we have going in the Actions API at the moment.
Maybe in future there will be a richer implementation of inline
Actions, where you can select some text and apply an Action directly
to that text instead of having to replace the text with an Action-item.
