Hi Nathan,
The Facebook option in the Meta Plus Action will technically work without the Facebook like button on the page (the meta data gets added to the document as you would expect) but Facebook will only read the data if someone clicks a like button on this page. Without that button the information will simply be ignored.
Using these options in the Action in association with a Facebook like button should pass the data to Facebook when users click on the button.
Regards,
Tim.

Thanks David. It say it requires a Facebook Like button. Does that just mean if I put a Facebook Like button on the page, then it will work?
When I goto Linked in and choose to update my profile, by putting in a new url (http://www.newyoubootcamp.com/corporate.html) I want it to display the graphic I specify in the action, but it doesn’t seem to - it grabs a load of images that are present on the page. Would this action be the correct route to solve this or an alternative method…

Hi Nathan,
OK I now see what you are doing. The current features in the Action add Facebook options to the page. I’m not sure if there are similar tags for LinkedIn but I can check.
If I find anything I’ll add it to the list to add to the Action.
Regards,
Tim.

Hi Nathan,
According to this thread (http://developer.linkedin.com/message/7673) LinkedIn should be pulling the same meta data that defines the thumbnail the Action is adding for Facebook. You’ll see that there are other users who are experiencing issues with LinkedIn not selecting the correct image despite the correct code being in the page.
When I get a chance I’ll look at updating the Action to include the new Open Graph format tags that both Facebook and LinkedIn use.
Regards,
Tim.
