I have managed to create a nice set of graphical drop-down menus using the CSS menus action. The drawn html box contains inline graphic items, set-up as lists, with rollovers applied to the inline items, and it all works and looks great.
However, as soon as I apply a hyperlink to the graphic boxes, the menu stops working - when the mouse moves over the graphic menu item, it disappears and the links don’t work. Removing the hyperlink gets the menu working again - but without links.
Am I attempting something that in theory isn’t actually possible? I notice the Menu Bar tutorials and any other instructions on using the CSS Menu action only refer to html items.
I can get a compromise working, where the initial top menu choice is a graphic, and the sub-menus are html text, but I would really like it to be all graphics if possible.
Currently the CSS Menus Action doesn’t like graphics being used in
them, adding extra unwanted space all over the place. This is
something we (Softpress) are aware of and hope to fix.

Thanks for coming back to me. It is a shame I can get the menu looking just how I want it using graphics, but of course a drop down menu is no good without working links.
Never mind. At least I know to stop trying, and I look forward to the fix. Great little feature all the same.
