Links /SEO - Scripty Fader

  1. I have a graphic that I want to uses as a link inside one of the fader panes. It will work as a link to a url but it does not function when I try to us it to use it with the spawn new window action or rollover action to reveal a hidden layer. Is there a way to make this work or are the panes limited to what can be inside?

  2. Since the pane content is in it’s own page will any text that is in the pane be skipped by SEO bots?

Thanks, TeamSDA_Dave

This is a matter of timing, and I’ll look at it but I can’t promise I
can fix it. Freeway Actions use what are known as callback functions
to do their work. These functions fire at predetermined times during
the publishing cycle. Each Action author is free to choose one or more
of these “slots” to do their manipulation of the page. I suspect (but
have not looked at this in depth) that the SNW Action fires at a later
time than the Fader, and so by the time it gets to that part of the
page, the target is gone and nothing happens.

This is absolutely the case. If you want to keep the elements within
the page, you might want to try my new NewsCycle Action. I haven’t
tried it with any other Actions yet, but it keeps all the content in
the page so you might have a fighting chance with making this work.

The trade-off of course is page size and speed of loading.
ScriptyFader lets you put nearly any amount of content into your page
in bite-size pieces, and load only what the visitor needs to see at
any one time.

Hi Walt,

Thank you, very informative. I might try the the news cycle out.

I really like the carousel action, So easy to use. If it was able to fade between panes that would do the trick. I am using it for an application where the tabs provide navigation in the page but no auto fading… Would this be posable with a hack or a future revision?
