Probably a real simple one. I want to create a link to a quicktime file such that clicking the link opens the file in Quicktime (as opposed to playing the file embedded in a page). I can see how to achieve the latter (File>Import etc.) I have tried creating an external hyperlink using the file protocol and pointing to a file on my local machine but it does not appear to work when previewing in a browser. Are the ‘external’ files supposed to be hosted somewhere before linking to them? Apologies if this is basic stuff, but I am coming over from iWeb, where you can just link to local files, then publish the site and the linked files are taken care of.
Make a Poster Movie for your QuickTime file. Directions are here: http://www.walterdavisstudio.com/posterframe.html. Then use Upload
Stuff to upload the full movie into your Resources folder. You can
choose to either play the movie in place, or you can force it to open
in the QuickTime Player.
