Lion Fonts

Upgraded to Lion with no problems but I did notice there are now several
default fonts that have multiple instances which weren’t there in 10.6,
eg, Palatino now has 2 versions:

TrueType (Mac)
TrueType Collection

another example is Papyrus:

Data-Fork Suitcase (TrueType)
TrueType Collection

I’m not sure if one format is preferable to the other or if one can
safely be deleted from the system or if they should both be left alone.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Todd

I wouldn’t such them if they are in /System/Library/Fonts or /Library/Fonts. If they are in your user level Fonts folder, then they are fair game. However, if they were actually installed by one of your apps and not the OS, the app might complain.
