List text

I have a list of text that I have indented into a base list. I have selected the ‘Square Bullets’ style for my list. Is there a way to define the colour of the square bullets? At present I have a black background to my page and the bullets are black :frowning:

My other query with the indent option is, how do you adjust the space that the indent option creates?

thanks

Jim

Hi Jim,

Both list bullet colour and the size of the indent can be controlled
by editing the paragraph style applied to the list. Hopefully you are
using Pro, and if so, you can do the following:

== To change the colour of the list bullets ==

  1. Edit the style that was created when selecting the ‘Square Bullets’
    list style
  2. In the character section, add the Colour attribute and set it to
the colour you want the list bullets to be
  3. OK the Edit Styles dialog

If you have not already set a colour for the text within the list, the
text will change to be the colour that you have set for the list
bullets. To fix this, simply apply a colour to the text to override
the colour that has been set for the list.

== To change the indent space of the list ==

  1. Edit the style that was created when selecting the ‘Square Bullets’
    list style
  2. Click on the Extended button
  3. Add a new attribute with the name ‘margin-left’ (without the single
quotes), and the value set to be the size of indent you want (e.g. 50px)
  4. Add a new attribute with the name ‘padding-left’ (without the
single quotes), and the value set to be the size of indent you want
    (e.g. 50px)
  5. OK the Extended dialog and the Edit Styles dialog

You won’t see the change in indent in Freeway, but if you preview in a
browser you will see the size of the indent has changed.

Hope this helps

Stewart
