Login / logout

Hi all,

I have password protected a folder on this site http://fellclub.org.uk

For now I have put a Logout link on the members area, which simply takes you back to the “Public home page”

This means you can simply go straight back into the Members area, but it would be great if the Logout did actually log you out.

Is there a way I can simply achieve this?

TIA Peter

Unfortunately, when you use a password protected folder, using the .htaccess database technique (or the cPanel, which just manipulates that setting), the only way to log out is to quit the browser (or wait a really long time without changing pages for the session to time out). There are other login methods available which do allow you to log out for real, but they involve programming and cookies and sometimes databases.

Thanks Walter,

I feared that would be the answer!

Thanks for the answer …
