Looking for LCD Display Recommendations

I’m looking for an inexpensive LCD display to use with my MacBook (original CoreDuo with Mini-DVI/DVI connector). I’m thinking probably something in the 20" range (1680 x 1050 resolution at that size), and $200 - $300 or so. There seems to be a few models that qualify, but while the “pro” reviews on some are pretty good, the user reviews that I’m finding on these are mixed.

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions?

You should be able to find a 22" to 24" for between $250 and $300. I bought a Dell 24" that I am quite happy with, though it did cost over $500 and was overpriced in my opinion. Check out the deals at eCost.com or Buy.com or Frys.com.

For example, eCost.com has a Samsung 22" with decent specs for $181.00. There is also a 24" Samsung for $225. They also have a 22" Viewsonic which is just a we bit over $220.99. Admittedly almost all their best deals are on recertified merchandise but that usually includes a full warranty so not much risk.

I ended up finding a Samsung 21.5 (model 2233) at my local Costco for around $180. They didn’t have this model online. It’s pretty nice, though I’m still getting settled with it, both as far as adjustments and positioning.

It is really nice having a fast Intel Mac hooked up to a big display!
