Mal's Payment Processor

Which payment processor do most of you use when setting up a Mal’s shopping cart using FW?

Paypal Pro instead of the free Paypal. Huge difference for your users in that they do not leave Mal’s to go over to Paypal site (which really stinks). On the Paypal site, Paypal makes it more difficult for your users to notice that they can pay with a credit card instead of a Paypal account. With Paypal Pro it’s all there on Mal’s. Fill in the info and submit the payment.

Paypal Pro is great.

One of the BIG problems with Mals is the lack of inventory count - does anybody Know if this is possible?

This was a real issue with one site I put together. I ended up
cobbling together callbacks from Paypal to change the status of an
item within the SQL database, so when someone bought an item (all
were one-off artworks) it would be flagged and therefore not shown on
the site.

It worked, but it was not as elegant as I’d have liked. And the
project fizzled in the end, anyway. Hoh-hum.

Lot of competition between shopping carts.

I like

www.bigcartel.com (less than 100 items)

and dislike for reasons of being complicated to redesign

I wish someone would write actions for these competing carts.

The carts are so easy you don’t need one.

Hi Guys

Please when posting links add the http://www. part in front to make it a clickable link - saves masses of copy/pasting

But also try apple (command) clicking un-protocol-ed links
(not that I wish to undermine the momentum for responsibility).

One is more likely to get help if providing full URL.

all the best

Absolutely. Command-clicking works even in an uncompromising warhorse
email clients such as Eudora, BUT:

For me, if it doesn’t LOOK like a link then it isn’t a link - and I
won’t bother trying to visit it unless there’s a really good reason.

If y’all want people to take a look at the site you’re talking about,
include http:// in front of the name. (Or https:// etc.) Don’t feel
you have to include www in there unless it really is a part of the
URL. You will get more people taking a look, guaranteed.

If y’all don’t care enough to do that, why post the thing in the
first place?
