Mals Shipping - help

Hi all,

I’ve set up my shop in FW using Mal’s & it all works fine.

The store currently offers 4 products, 2 of which are downloads (mp3/ebook) so shipping will NOT apply to these 2 downloadable items.

How can I set this in Mal’s to only apply shipping to the 2 remaining items, I’ve tried several times with no success… hopefully someone can point me in the right direction?!!

You can apply a fixed value for all items, but I want to set a fixed value for 2 of my items and free for the downloads.

Hi,
If you log into your secure Mals admin area you’ll see all of the options for calculating shipping in your store. Try ‘Option 3: Calculated from weight or other value’ and specify the shipping units in the action back in Freeway. Both the Freeway Shop Actions as well as my Mals Actions allow you to enter a shipping value for the product you are setting up. Doing this you should be able to specify a shipping value of 0 for your download products and have them show up in the cart as free shipping.
Regards,
Tim.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your reply.

I followed your instructions and set the ‘shopping units’ value in FW for each item within the E-BUY BUTTON action.

EG:

MP3 (download) 0.00

Cd 1.99

Ebook (download) 0.00

Book 2.99

In the Mal’s cart setup, I then selected shipping and selected option 3 ‘Calculated from weight or other value’. In the Shipping cost per unit: I entered 1

When tested it now worked fine!

Is there a way to display the shipping cost for individual item respectively, rather than adding to a ‘total delivery cost’?

Quick question:
It just seems to me that it may be better to be able to clearly see the delivery cost for each individual item, aswell as calculate a total delivery cost!?

Is this possible Tim? If so will it work with FW standard shop actions, or do I need to purchase your Mals suite or perhaps even upgrade my Mal account to premium from my current free acoount!

many thanks

Well done. This looks like it is working really well.

Not as far as I know. You could add a reference to the delivery charge in the item description as I don’t think the Mals cart allows for a separate shipping column in the cart.

Other than adding the shipping details as part of the item description I can’t think of a way to do this in either set of actions. I’m sorry to say that I don’t think the current Mals store can display shipping costs on an item by item basis.

Tim.

Thanks Tim, as I’m sure you can sympathize its not an essential request, but one of clarity.

Not to bother, hopefully something Mal’s or FW may introduce in the future?!!

Thanks once again for your help
