Manuals

I just completed my purchase of Freeway Pro 4. As well, I am considering purchasing their manuals.

When ordering manuals there are 2 options.

Freeway 4 Reference (11/06) 460 pages - $45.00

and:

Pro-User Guide/Quick Start, CD (F4 serial number required) - $40.00

What is the second one? Is it just the minimal stuff that you would get in the boxed version. As I understand it, the boxed version comes with those assets, but does not include the Freeway 4 Reference.

I think it’s the Reference that I am looking for, but just wan to make sure before I order.

Also, has anyone else purchased this add-on, and how worthwhile did you find it?

Comments would be appreciated.

You can try before you buy, if you like.

You can download the Freeway Reference as a fully indexed and word
searchable PDF from the Softpress web site. If you like it, you can
buy it in its snazzy binder.

:o)

I purchased the reference manual when it first came out and like with
most manuals have dipped into only about 10 - 20% of it. It is all
available online, but I find the ‘book’ easier to work with and very
useful when I forget how to use a particular feature or need to learn
something new. It’s well worth the cost.
For getting to grips with the more demanding features of Freeway it’s
almost as useful as this Forum. Put the two together and there’s not
much you can’t achieve in efficient web design.

Thanks Heather and Colin.

Due to the fact that I have a dual monitor system 24" iMac as my main screen and a 20" widescreen as a secondary screen, I can put the Reference Manual on the widescreen and find what I am looking for in that space, without interfering wth the main work area. Gone are the days of the need for hard copies when you have this kind of set up at hand.

The widescreen area was primarily added to contain my Windows in Parallels, but dropping the manual on top works great.

It also saves me a few bucks.
