Firstly you can create mobile apps using HTML, CSS and Javascript - so you can use Freeway - along with a third party interface like PhoneGap http://phonegap.com/
I have the luxury of a teenage son who reads and writes objective-c (Xcode programming language) with a level of enthusiasm that I’d struggle to conjure up for a great book.
He found out enough to get started just watching youtube videos, and when he was ready for more, we sent him on a course at Amsys Training http://www.amsys.co.uk/
They were great with hin, even though he was just 13 at the time. I’m not sure where you are located, but if you google for iOS dev in or around your area, there will no doubt be groups you could join to find out more. Just like the Freeway Community, the iOS folk are very supportive and there are lots of forums to answer questions you may have.

On the next release of Glovebox (being submitted to Apple today) it will have a name change, due to my over zealous faith in mankind respecting one and other, and the fact that someone else has recently trademarked that name for use in a mobile application - which they have yet to develop.
