moving words / lines

Good morning,

now that I think… but not sure… I am done w the daycare site. I am
following your advice.

I am doing a mock up for a law firm and there are a couple of
questions I have…

I like the look of some of the css sites I was referred to …

one action that catches my eye… and would like to do it… is the
cover of the following link… the moving of the lines and words…

I have also seen (and cant find the link right now) a similar with the
words moving from left to right into place…

THank you.

JUlie

That effect was done in Flash. Something you might want look at, if
you don’t use Flash is a program that will output ,swf files for
similar types of affect - I use Text-Osterone, sparingly, from:

http://verticalmoon.com/products/textosterone/textosterone.htm

Be cautious how you use it. Too much of this kind of effect becomes a
distraction.

yes I know it is a template… but for the mock purposes I think using
it is ok…

This one is done in Flash, too.

As for your mock-up, there’s no harm in using a template. Templates
are there to save time, give you ideas and develop or plagiarise, at
will. They give you a structure to work on and, unless you know of a
competitor to the client using the same template, there’s no need to
go far away from it. Look how it’s constructed and you will learn how
to apply the same qualities to your own designs.

You might be able to get away with an Action.

There’s an Action called Ticker Tape. Not too elegant, but maybe you can play around with it.

Thank you
Ok, I think that would work for the mock to show idea…

But Can I only have the words go out once? also can I change the
background color from white to clear?
I checked the action inspector and it is set to none… hummm

thank you!!

There’s a text color and box color inputs that you can change color in.

Also you can play with Character Speed, too.

I haven’t used this particular Action, so I’m not that familiar with it.
