multiple copies?

I’d like to have a copy of Freeway Express 5 on my laptop so I can do some work on the road, as well as the main program on my desktop at home. Do I have to purchase another licensed copy, or can I just copy it from one machine to another.

I’m running on a Mac…if I CAN copy it, does anyone have any suggestions on how to do that…I’ve never tried copying anything from one Mac to another.

Later!!

You’d be best to download the installer again on the new machine. The Freeway license states explicitly that you are allowed to install a single license of the application on more than one Mac, but you will not be able to run two (or more) copies at the same time on the same network.

Quote from the Softpress site

  1. Grant of License. The Software is licensed as follows:

(a) Installation and Use. Softpress grants you the right to install and use the Software on a single computer, or on a desktop and portable as long as the software is for the exclusive use of the owner and only one machine may be running the software at any one time.

Which means - Yes you can install FW on both your Laptop and your Desktop.

The easiest way is to install from the freeway.dmg file that you downloaded or the CD that came in the box - just follow the same procedure that you did on first installation - make sure that you have your serial number to hand.

Thanks alot, guys! Exactly what I was looking for. I’ll be the only one using the program, and I have a lot of down-time at work where I could get in some changes to my site from my laptop.

My biggest problem will be keeping the freeway files the same on both computers, but syncing them will probably work.

Thanks again!!

Can you let me know how you get on with the syncing? I ask because in the past I had problems with different styles popping up - at least that was what I thought was happening. I may have screwed something else up at the time and have never really lost my nervousness over loosing work or having to rework a site or bits of a site. I have not used the laptop since other than for testing. It would be nice to learn how you tackle this issue.

Mas Dubh…

I’l let you know what I find out. I haven’t had time to play with the options yet.

If anyone is interested in checking out my first attempt at a website (it’s very basic), I’ve posted a site documenting the installation of a large PV solar system on my house. It can be found at:

Enjoy!!
