Nav Bar action question

I have been learning the Nav bar action and drop down menu technique from the Freeway Actions documents. Its working almost perfectly, drop down works and all, but the drop down menu boxes are not flush with the menu bar, the drop down menu is free floating a little below it and you can see the page in between them. Was wondering If anyone had a tip to remedy this, not sure where ii strayed from the guide, reread it a few times. Any help would be much appreciated.

Anyone have any ideas on this?..still can’t seem to get it to work. My remedy is drawing a thin few pixel wide graphic item the same color as the nav bar to fill the space. It is an ok remedy, but throws off the alignment of nav bar type, and doesn’t quiet look right.

Can you please advise what technique you used for the drop down menu? Apparently there’s supposed to be an action that comes with F4 but I’m lost.

Try decreasing the size of the cells in the main menu. The position of
the submenu is related to the bottom of the main menu cells (for
horizontal menus).

I hope this helps.

Hi Samantha,

What sort of dropdown are you trying to create? The Navigation Bar
that Waylen mentioned is an Action that tracks the position in the
site, this is created automatically by the Action. There is an option
within the Action to get a dropdown menu. Take a look at the Freeway
Reference guide for full details of how to set it up: http://www.softpress.com/support/usermanuals.php

Hi Joe,
I would like to create drop down menus similar to for example the softpress site. I have a feeling there is no simple way.

Thanks Joe for the tip on the Nav bar its working how i wanted it too now.

Hey Samantha,
You can learn how to make the menu navigation scheme similar, but not exactly like on the softpress website by reading the Fast Actions user guide documentation under the nav bar chapter. Its not too hard to set up the nav bar, once you do it three or four times it gets easy. There is some great stuff in that guide, I’m going to try get it read by this weekend if I have time.

Hi Samantha,

The menus on our site have been made using the CSS Menus Action that
come with Freeway 5. Details of how to do this are here: http://www.softpress.com/products/cssmenus.php

Once you have the basic setup then you can add images, colors and so
forth into the menus to make them look similar to ours.

I hope this helps.
