Hi everyone,

I’m a novice who has been using iWeb for ages. As Apple has abandoned iWeb and it begins to age, I’m finding compatibility issues - particularly with Android devices.

Today I downloaded the trial of Freeway Express and then purchased Exhibeo. I’m a little frustrated…

Question 1) Having created an Exhibeo slideshow, how do I import this to Freeway? I’ve selected export for Freeway and named a file. However, I don’t know how to import it.

Question 2) I already have a website published. Is it possible to import this iWeb site into Freeway?

Question 3) If I buy Freeway Express and later decide I need Pro, is there an upgrade path - or do I need to pay the full licence fee?

Appreciate any help you can give. I understand this is the best path when coming from iWeb. Your help with roadblocks is appreciated!

Hello,

I came from the iWeb “domain” and you will find FW a far more rewarding and capable product.
In response to you questions.
Q1 You use the Exhibeo Import Action (i use Pro so not sure if it is available on Express) Select where you want to insert the Slideshow and then go to the menu and select Insert>Action> Exhibeo Import. Then in the Action pallet (make sure the Actions Window is selected under the Window Menu) select the Exhibeo file that you exported.

Q2. No… Don’t believe you can.
Q3. I would call Softpress on this one.

Hi John,

My actions menu seems to be missing Exhibeo.

However, I did open Exhibeo and (under Window) ask it to install Exhibeo actions for FW.

Anyone else had trouble updating the action? Is there a workaround?

Nevermind, I found a thread on the Exhibeo action. I’ve now installed it.

I have a question which I think is fundamentally one of interface - Now that I’ve got my Exhibeo “box” on the page, how do I point this to my Exhibeo slideshow?

Hello,

As i indicated in my first response…

Select where you want to insert the Slideshow and then go to the menu and select Insert>Action> Exhibeo Import. Then in the Action pallet (make sure the Actions Window is selected under the Window Menu) select the Exhibeo file that you exported.

Your mention of the Action Window did the trick. I didn’t even see it there, so I’ve now imported the correct file.

I don’t know what the policy is at the moment, but the way I remember it, if you buy Express and want to upgrade to Pro, they only charge you the difference… contact support(a)softpress.com for details, or hunt around on the site.

I actually bought FW5 Pro but never used it - which is to say, never gave it a chance.

Now that I’m giving it more effort, I’m enjoying small successes. I have applied for the upgrade discount.
