No smooth scrolling in Esperanto

Have just downloaded the Esperanto template and briefly played a little with it out of the box. But somehow the smooth action doesn’t seem to work when previewing, in all browsers. It just jumps down to the anchors.

Familiar to anybody?

Have you tried it online.

And if it is online share a link and we can look at the code.

No, I haven’t uploaded. I’ve only tried it previewing on the machine, doing all browsers. I just opened it to see how it performed. So this is how it came out of the box. I’ve deleted and restarted, but no change. It jumps down and ends up with the title underneath the menu, so it is not even landing correctly. Bug?

Bug?

Don’t think so, cause the official template works regarding smooth scroll:

http://template.softpress.com/esperanto/

So David’s tipp of failed loaded resources is very reasonable. Point is, that we can’t do anything for you. CTRL-click into your browser window and chose “inspect element” (in Safari developer tools need to be enabled), you might see some red symbols like:

or preferably put it somewhere on a live server. This is just because guessing sucks.

A general not to this template:

There is an item #VisitorComments which has a fixed height of 400px. Removing this would stop the overflowing comments at the bottom of the page.

And a question:

Within disqus, there is something which is called 3Hats Communications:

Ahm - what is this?

Ok, so I deleted the template and downloaded it again, just to make sure. Tried the virgin, but no change.
For your pleasure I uploaded her to http://www.weberth.com/esperanto/

And yes, there are a lot of red symbols. And yellow, too.

For whatever reason, smooth scroll action (I suppose it is done by the action) doesn’t load scriptaculous and prototype library. Is the action applied to the page and if, what version? It might also have happened, that the master/child settings are broken - just a guess, but it’s something into this direction.

Thank you for attention, Thomas. I think the questions you are asking are best answered by someone from Softpress. As I said, I’ve just uploaded what came out of the box from them.

It’s a free version. Perhaps if I pay for it, it will work?

It could be answered by yourself - by just looking at the index page, telling me if whether if it is applied or not and checking the version number down right of the action window.

Getting the car without the steering wheel, purchasing one it’ll work? Hm - doubtful. But feel free to contact softpress support - but let us know, what happened.

I had version 0.5.2. After update to 0.5.4 it works. Thank you for the tip, Thomas.

And the question in my last comment, it was a joke.
