Hi Walter
Quick question - On the FWT home page the section - ? Posts since your last visit.
What are the circumstances that cause this to change because even if I quit Firefox 2.0.0.9 and revisit then it doesn’t change.

But if I log in with a different browser it works fine
Safari 3.0.3
Is it because there is no specific log out and Firefox doesn’t close/end the session even on quitting Firefox?

There are two things at work here. There is a session key, which gets set when you log in. And there is an optional Remember Me cookie, which keeps logging you back in when your session expires.

The session is supposed to stay active until you quit your browser, but if you stay on the same page for more than a certain amount of time, your session can expire before that as well. If you have set the cookie, then the next time you navigate to a different page or refresh the browser, your session is re-created.

In any case, if you start a new session, all of the “since your last login” timers are reset.

Then what I am finding is that quitting the browser is not ending the session.
Is there anything I can do at my end to sort it - I do have the remember me checked.

I have found a number of things that need work in the session
management code, and I am progressing to a solution. In the meantime,
please note if there are particular threads which you are unable to
reply to. There is a pattern here, but not one I can see clearly. I
have found two threads so far which defy reply. And many many more
which just work.

If you want to log out completely for testing purposes, then go to
the My Account page, un-check the Remember Me flag, and save
preferences. Then you will see the Log Out button on the left hand
nav. Press that, and you will be completely logged out.
