Onscreen Measurements

Since ScreenCaliper never upgraded to run on Lion or Mt. Lion, can anyone suggest a good pixel measurement tool?

I use Xscope http://iconfactory.com/software/xscope which has a very useful suite of tools but it’s pricey.

I’ve always used Command-Shift-4, which is the tool for taking screen-grabs of selected areas. Press the key combo, click and drag a rectangle around the thing you want to measure, take the measurements (displayed on the cursor) and press escape to cancel the screen-grab. Only downside is it can be a little hard to read on dark backgrounds.
